Locomotive Services Group Class 47/4, 47853 (carrying former number 47614) along with stablemate Class 47/7, 47593 "Galloway Princess" prepare to work through the night with the ECS move for the following weekend's West Highland Statesman to Fort William.
The move was running as 5Z36 23:20 Crewe Holding Sidings to Stevenage and after a layover in Wembley Yard would arrive at 04:58 the next morning.
This would be the pair's second trip to the Scottish Highlands in a little over a week, having also worked the Mossend-Inverness leg of InterCity's The Clansman the previous weekend.
