Locomotive Services Limited Class 87, 87002 "Royal Sovereign" - along with its understandably happy crew - arrives into Crewe with the InterCity Electric Scot railtour.
This was 87002's first revenue-earning outing for LSL and the first tour of the InterCity 2022 season (and only the second in the history of LSL's latest charter brand).
LSL's Electric Locomotive Engineer, Rob Fenner (on the left) was soon to become the hero of the hour when 87002 came to a stand with a tap changer relay fault on the Down Fast at Acton Bridge and Rob sprung into action to get the old girl repaired and on her way.
The outward leg was running as 1Z87 07:10 Euston to Glasgow Central High Level.
