Locomotive Services Limited Class 87, 87002 "Royal Sovereign" has a well-earned rest in the sidings at Crewe Diesel Depot having worked 1,150 miles the day before on the InterCity "Electric Scot" railtour from Euston to Glasgow and back (plus ECS moves between Crewe and Euston).
Accompanying 87002 is LSL depot pilot, Class 08, 08631, which has recently returned from Wolsingham (Weardale Railway) where it had been since summer 2019 for a major overhaul by RMS Locotec.
