Blue Streak
A dashing sight as Locomotive Services Limited's HST Class 43 power car 43046 "Geoff Drury 1930-1999 - Steam Preservation and Computerised Track Recording Pioneer" - with its all-blue ends restored - races through Hartford at somewhere near 110 mph with the "Settle & Carlisle Pullman".
The Midland Pullman power cars had temporarily had to run with a stuck-on yellow panel on their front ends due to a paperwork technicality. However, with this resolved it was back to all blue.
The railtour was running from Eastleigh to Carlisle via the S&C, then back via the WCML, with this return leg running as 1Z35 16:15 Carlisle to Eastleigh.
