Returning In Style

Locomotive Services Limited Class 47/4s, D1935 / 47805 "Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013" and D1924 / 47810 "Crewe Diesel Depot" prepare to run off the stock of the Chairman's Train having a worked 1Z47 11:24 Oxford to Crewe.

47810 was on its first Class 1 outing for for well over a year having undergone some significant repairs at its namesake.

The private charter was bringing Jeremey Hosking and his family and friends to Crewe for the naming of one of the Class 37 locomotives (which would then work the train back to Oxford).

47805 is named after Mr. Hosking's father, so brought a nice symmetry to proceedings with the 37 being named after his mother.
