The Mothership
Locomotive Services Limited Class 37/5s, D6851 / 37667 "FLOPSIE" (along with sister engine 37 521 out of sight) prepare to depart Crewe with the LSL's Chairman's Train, returning Jeremy Hosking and his guests back to Oxford on 1Z48 16:40 Crewe to Oxford.
37667 had just been named "FLOPSIE" in a private ceremony hosted by Mr. Hosking on the old Platform 1 at Crewe - the name being in honour of his mother whose nickname is Flopsie.
Mr. Hosking and his guests had earlier travelled from Oxford to Crewe on the Chairman's Train, hauled on that leg by two LSL Class 47s, with the one named after Mr. Hosking's father leading.
