An awesome sight and sound as the Class 40 Preservation Society's D345 (40145) leads privately-owned sister locomotive D213 (40013) "Andania" through Hartford with the return leg of the CFPS "Double Scotch" railtour.
Both of the "Whistlers" are on long-term hire to Locomotive Services Limited, who were operating the train on behalf of CFPS.
The return leg via the Edinburgh Suburban Line and the WCML was running as 1Z33 17:03 Edinburgh Waverley to Crewe.
D05 Preservation Limited's Class 47/4, 47828 - also on long-term hire to LSL - was in the darkness on the rear of the formation providing ETH, as well as performing ECS shunt duties between Craigentinny and Waverley.
