Due to on-going guard availability issues, the full Caledonian Sleeper Down Lowlander service (1S26) had run to Edinburgh, with no split at Carstairs.
The engine which had worked the train from London, GB Railfreight Class 92, 92014 then ran round its Load 16 rake at Waverley prior to attaching to the west end of the stock to work the ECS (5B26) to Polmadie Depot.
