Waiting for the Green Light
GB Railfreight Class 92, 92006 waits for the road at Crewe station as it works 5S26 21:16 Wembley Inter City Depot to Polmadie Carriage Maintenance Depot.
This was an ECS move to take nine Caledonian Sleeper Mk5 coaches from Wembley to Polmadie for repairs/maintenance (including tyre-turning).
Normally the coaches rotate through Polmadie every fourth day of service, but with the 11-day RMT strike on-going a specific move was required. A balancing ECS move of nine Mk5s also ran in the opposite direction (as 5M12) to keep Wembley up to its full quota of stock ready for the resumption of services.
