Pan Drop Dyson

GB Railfreight Class 92, 92028 waits for the signal in the UDL at Crewe station as it takes itself and sister engine 92018 to Crewe ETD for some TLC on 0U92 17:10 Wembley Inter City Depot to Crewe Electric Traction Maintenance Depot.

With an enforced lull in Caledonian Sleeper operations due to the 11-day RMT strike, this offered an opportunity to address a couple of long-standing niggles with these locomotives.

Resting alongside in the Thunderbird siding is Direct Rail Services Class 57/3, 57308 "Jamie Ferguson".

(This photo was taken just after 92028 had decided to drop its pan when the driver had got the signal to head round to the ETD. A speedy reboot then followed, with the pair getting underway before Crewe PSB put the signal back.)
