Setting the Standard

GB Railfreight Managing Director John Smith sets a great example wearing full PPE as he joins Willesden driver Will in the cab for the Euston-Crewe stretch of the Down Highlander (1S25).

Class 92, 92010 was in charge of the Caledonian Sleeper service as it arrived into Crewe an hour late, mainly due to issues with the stock at Wembley.

Alongside the sleeper, CAF "Civity" Class 197, 197001 prepares to leave Crewe on its second test run to Wilmslow of the night. It had arrived on 3K90 00:39 Wilmslow to Crewe and was preparing to leave again on 3H92 01:02 Crewe to Wilmslow.

The Class 197 DMUs are for use with Transport for Wales (TfW) and are intended to replace Class 158s and 175s. A total of 77 units are due to be built, comprising 51 Class 197/0 two-car units and 26 Class 197/1 three-car units.
