East vs West
GB Railfreight Class 92, 92018 leads the Caledonian Sleeper Down Highlander (1S25) through Hartford. Whilst this is not unusual in itself, it was the first time I could remember when the Beds were planned to run on both the WCML and ECML on the same night, with the Up service (1M16) running via the ECML.
The Sleeper typically runs via the ECML on Sunday nights during the Spring due to planned engineering blockades on the WCML.
A reduced service was running in response to Covid-19 restrictions, with only one train running in each direction serving Edinburgh and Inverness. The usual services to Glasgow, Aberdeen and Fort William were cancelled. Full services are planned to resume on the night of Thursday 29th April.
