Record-breaking Class 43 HST Power Car, 43102 (43302) "The Journey Shrinker" leads the EMR InterCity 1B28 07:40 Leeds to St Pancras service past the famous Brush works at Loughborough.
43102 - recently repainted into the striking InterCity Swallow livery - was one of the pair of power cars that still holds the World Record for a diesel train, reaching 148.5 mph on 1 November 1987.
The HSTs are to be withdrawn from EMR's Midland Main Line services in mid-May - signalling the end of scheduled mainline HST services to/from London after over 40 years.
