Elephant Impressions

Locomotive Services Limited's Class 20 20107 / D8107 "Jocelyn Feilding 1940-2020" leads poorly classmate 20096 / D8096 through Hartford on their way back to base on 0Z27 12:48 Carlisle High Wapping Sidings to Crewe Holding Sidings.

The LSL Choppers were due to return on an earlier 0Z20 path via the Cumbrian Coast, however 20096 failed soon after leaving, so they returned to Carlisle for 20107 to run round its stricken mate and also be turned, so it could lead cab-first back south. This led to the somewhat unusual "nose-to-cab" formation.

The "Choppers" had gone to the Border City prior to Christmas to undertake road learning around the Carlisle area. They were due to head to Aberdeen for further road learning, but with the announcement of the third national lockdown due to Covid-19, the Scottish trip was cancelled and they returned home to Crewe early.
