Key Off, Home Time

Pan down, key off and LSL Driver Chris heads off down the former Platform 1 at Crewe at the end of a very successful weekend for Locomotive Services Limited during which they launched two new charter services.

Class 90, 90002 "Wolf of Badenoch" had just returned back to base with the ECS from the previous day's inaugural InterCity "Royal Scot" tour from Euston to Glasgow and back. The ECS had spent the night in London and then returned on the Sunday afternoon as 5Z94 13:31 Acton Lane Reception Sidings to Crewe Down Holding Sidings.

Sister Skoda 90001 "Royal Scot" - which had been due to lead the tour - looks wistfully on in the background having been subbed-out by 90002 after it suffering a technical issue on the pre-tour test run.

Also in the background is the Nanking Blue Midland Pullman HST which had worked its debut tour the previous day as well. Class 43 power car, 43046 is at this end of the carriage shed.

In the shed alongside the "Blue Pullman" is Class 47, 47593 "Galloway Princess" waiting to attach to the rear of the InterCity stock and draw it back into the carriage shed.

Also just visible behind 90001 is one of the depot pilots, Class 08, 08483 "Bungle" and between 90001 and 43046 is LSL's other InterCity Mk3 DVT, 82127.

Full InterCity consist:

90002 + 10416 11068 11070 11087 10411 11076 11098 82139
