Tour Stock Back at Base

A selection of locomotives and stock at Crewe Diesel Depot at the end of a very successful weekend for Locomotive Services Limited during which they launched two new charter services.

Poking out of the carriage shed is the Nanking Blue Midland Pullman HST which had worked its debut tour the previous day - Class 43 power car, 43046 is at this end.

In the shed alongside the "Blue Pullman" is Class 47, 47593 "Galloway Princess" waiting to attach to the rear of the InterCity stock that had just returned from London and draw it back into the carriage shed.

In the foreground (right) can be seen part of the ECS from the previous day's inaugural InterCity "Royal Scot" tour from Euston to Glasgow and back. The ECS had spent the night in London and then returned on the Sunday afternoon as 5Z94 13:31 Acton Lane Reception Sidings to Crewe Down Holding Sidings.

The InterCity Mk3s visible in the shot are 82139 (DVT) 11098 (FO) 11076 (FO) 10411 (FOB) and a bit of 11087 (FO).

Sat in the road alongside the carriage sheds - over which a new canopy has been built - is the stock from Jeremy Hosking's Chairman's Train, which had been out on a private charter in the Surrey area on the Thursday prior to the weekend. Starting nearest to the camera, the Chairman's Train for this particular charter comprised:

6311 Mk1 Generator car - providing Three Phase ETS to the coaches, which have been modified accordingly.

17159 Mk2d BFK - the brake coach for the consist.

Pullman Bar Car 310 "Pegasus" containing "The Trianon Bar".

3100 Mk1 First Open (from the Saphos Trains stock).

99993 (ex TSO Mk1 5067) Dining Car - an exquisite club car recently refurbished.

6706 Mk2f RLO "Mount Gahinga" - ex-Caledonian Sleeper Mk2 lounge that has been modified and fully refitted to a very high standard for specific use in the Chairman's Train as a private lounge/sitting room.
