Solo Skoda Stand-in

Freightliner's former Greater Anglia Class 90, 90015 "Colchester Castle" heads through a gloomy Acton Bridge with a load of sleepers on 6C02 10:59 Crewe Basford Hall to Carlisle New Yard.

This is a Direct Rail Services working, however after 68 017 failed not far from this spot in the early hours during the first attempt at running 6C02, the train had to be dragged back to Crewe by Freightliner's 66 551. With DRS apparently not having any other available locos and/or crew, Freightliner stepped in and took the engineers' train north on a revised VSTP path.

90015 had only just entered revenue-earning service for Freightliner, working 4M98 from Basford Hall to Garston the night before and then back as 4K74 prior to being commandeered for its unusual solo Class 6 freight duty.
