French Connection

GB Railfreight Class 92, 92033 appears from under the Middlewich Road overbridge as it leads the Caledonian Sleeper Up Highlander (1M16) through Winsford station.

A revised timetable was in operation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with the Highlander running to/from Inverness and Fort William only and the Lowlander serving Glasgow and Edinburgh as normal.

Since 1993 Winsford has been twinned with Deuil-la-Barre, a commune in the northern suburbs of Paris. 92033 was one of the nine Class 92s originally owned by SNCF and carried the name "Berlioz" - a French composer.
