Blue Dampers

Locomotive Services Limited's immaculately presented Class 90, 90001 "Royal Scot" leads the Private Train of Jeremy Hosking (LSL's owner) over the Dutton Viaduct in Cheshire.

The Private Train was on its inaugural run, heading for a long-weekend in the Scottish Highlands. This first part of the outbound leg was 1Z40 Euston to Mossend Down Yard, with 2x 37s then taking the train forward for the weekend from there.

As part of preparations for 90001's debut run for LSL, a few finishing touches were made to the locomotive including the installation of original-style horn grills and the painting of the dampers on the bogies in blue.

The blue dampers can just been seen above the viaduct parapet, which I was pleased about as I was partly responsible for the idea...!
