"It's not an 'obby, it's a lifestyle!"
One of the stars of the legendary Channel 4 documentary "The Bashers" and now GB Railfreight Liverpool depot's "Driver Colin" (not his real name!) is in the chair of 92043 as it heads through Hartford with the Caledonian Sleeper Up Highlander (1M16).
A revised timetable was in operation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with two trains running in each direction - one to Inverness and Fort William and the other to Edinburgh - meaning no services to Aberdeen or Glasgow Central.
In summary, the uplifted timetable has a Load 14 Highlander serving Inverness (x8) and Fort William (x6) and a Load 8 Lowlander serving Edinburgh only; along with 6 extra coaches being moved as ECS on the Lowlander in each direction twice per week (Southbound Sunday and Wednesday / Northbound Monday and Thursday) to rotate units for maintenance.
In a change to the usual diagram for a Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, 043 had run across light engine on 0B59 from Polmadie to work 1M16 south with 028 which was in Edinburgh ex-1S25 the previous night providing the standby cover for 1M16, then running across to Polmadie on 0D59 in the early hours. Usually the engine in Waverley ex-1S25 from the previous night (i.e. 028 on this occasion) works 1M16 and the Polmadie loco just runs light on 0B59/0D59 to/from Edinburgh to provide cover.
