Craftsman Recovered

Locomotive Services Limited's Class 90, 90002 "Wolf of Badenoch" stands at Crewe Diesel Depot having just arrived with poorly LSL Class 47, 47501 (D1944) "Craftsman".

The 47 had suffered issues the previous evening on the return leg of The Dartmouth Regatta Statesman tour to Rugby and was left there when sister engine 805 took the ECS solo north to Crewe for The Lakelander the next morning.

90002 then ran down to Rugby in the afternoon to recover the stricken Duff and return her to Crewe Diesel Depot for attention.

Also visible in the shot are LSL's Class 08, 08483 "Bungle", TransPennine Express (TPE) Driving Trailer 12814 and LSL's InterCity-liveried Mk3 DVT 82127.

The TPE Driving Trailer (DT) the spare DT for the TPE Mk5A fleet. It arrived at Crewe Diesel by road from Holyhead a few days previously and was due to move to Longsight (by rail) the following Tuesday morning.
