Visitors Old and New

The Class 40 Preservation Group's 40 145 / D345 arrives at its new temporary home of Crewe Diesel Depot. The "Whistler" had just arrived at the start of a six-month loan to Locomotive Services Limited and had run from the East Lancs Railway as 0Z90.

Also on the depot was a shorter-term visitor in the shape of Direct Rail Services' Class 68, 68034. Hiding behind the 68 is LSL pilot Class 08, 08483 "Bungle".

The 68 was there to move the spare TPE Mk5a Driving Trailer to Longsight. The DT had been shipped to Holyhead Rio Tinto and moved by road to Crewe Diesel.
