The Class 40 Preservation Society's 40145 hauls sister locomotive 40106 "Atlantic Conveyor" through Hartford on their way back home to the East Lancs.
40145 had been at Barrow Hill for repairs (new tyres/bogie work) and had run the previous day to the Severn Valley Railway to collect 40106, which had been operating there.
After an overnight stay at Crewe Diesel the pair made their way north to Bury on 0Z46 11:53 Crewe Holding Sidings to Bury East Lancashire Railway.
The English Electrics had different birthplaces - 40106 was built in 1960 at the Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns factory in Darlington, whereas 40145 was built in 1961 at the Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows.
