Breaking In New Boots
GB Railfreight Class 92, 92010 makes its way through Winsford with the Caledonian Sleeper Up Highlander (1M16) on it first return run to Scotland since receiving new wheels.
A revised timetable was in operation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This was the first night of an uplifted service with two trains running in each direction for the first time since late March. Fort William was reinstated as a destination, although services were still not running to Aberdeen. The standalone Lowlander ran to/from Edinburgh, meaning no service for the time being to Glasgow Central.
In summary, the uplifted timetable has a Load 14 Highlander serving Inverness (x8) and Fort William (x6) and a Load 8 Lowlander serving Edinburgh only; along with 6 extra coaches being moved as ECS on the Lowlander in each direction twice per week (Southbound Sun + Wed and Northbound Mon and Thu) to rotate sets for maintenance.
