Locomotive Services Class 47, 47805 (D1935) "Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013" waits with 87 002 at Crewe having arrived on 5Z36 10:50 Eastleigh Works to Crewe Holding Sidings.
47 501 had led the consist, but then ran round the stock at Crewe to haul the train back into Gresty Green sidings, before 47 805 work the stock back into Crewe Diesel Depot.
The move from Eastleigh was to bring repainted 87 002 back to its new home, along with a freshly refurbed rake of Mk2 Statesman stock.
This was the first time I'd seen or captured 47805 since I saw it at York over 28 years previously on 30 July 1991: flic.kr/p/WvdvAf
