Shiny Shunt
Locomotive Services Limited's Class 47, 47 805 (D1935) "Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013" shunts freshly repainted Class 87, 87 002 "Royal Sovereign" back to the loco sheds at Crewe Diesel Depot.
87002, still smelling of fresh paint, had arrived in Crewe from Eastleigh Works resplendent in her new InterCity "Swallow" livery.
The last remaining mainline Class 87 was brought back to its new home at Crewe Diesel Depot by 47 501 (out of shot) and 47 805 on 5Z36 along with a rake of equally ex-works Statesman Mk2s.
47 501 had detached in Crewe station and run around to draw the train back into Gresty Green sidings, before 47 805 (which had been tucked inside 47 501) then hauled the consist into the depot. Once inside, 47 805 drew 87 002 off and then reversed it back (as photographed) to the loco sheds.
