Pride of Crewe x4

GBRf Class 92, 92 044 "Couperin" waits in the Up and Down Loop at Crewe in between GBRf Rail Services Class 47s, 47 749 "City of Truro" and 47 727 "Edinburgh Castle / Caisteal Dhún Éideann" ahead of being taken into Loughborough Brush for overhaul.

This will almost certainly see the end of the 92's tunnel rings and Crewe IEMD shed plate after over 24 years of carrying them. It also could well see the end of its original Triple Grey BR Railfreight livery that has certainly stood the test of time.

The Crewe-built 47s had arrived on 0Z47 from Leicester LIP and had then ran out into the neck siding south of the station to collect 044 and draw it out into the station. 47749 then ran round the other two locos before taking them to Brush as 0Z92.

In the background can be seen DRS Class 57/3, 57 309 "Pride of Crewe" on duty as the Crewe Thunderbird.
