Crewe Diesel Open Day: DP2?
Locomotive Diesel Limited's Class 55 Deltic D9016 (55016) masquerading for some reason as the infamous DP2 shows significant signs of corrosion as it awaits attention in the paint booth at Crewe Diesel Depot. The engine did carry the name "Gordon Highlander".
The locomotive was cosmetically restored to a high standard and moved by road in December 2019 to Jeremey Hosking's "One:One" museum in the old Hornby factory in Margate, Kent.
Snaps from the Crewe Diesel Depot "All Change" charity open day organised by Locomotive Services Limited and Virgin Trains West Coast. Mostly taken on my iPhone "for the record".
