Crewe Diesel Open Day: Lady Di
Crewe Diesel Preservation Group's Class 47/7, 47 712 "Lady Diana Spencer" awaits attention on the lifting road at Crewe Diesel Depot.
CDPG announced in February 2019 that its Brush-built Type 4 was to return to the mainline as part of an 18-month agreement with Locomotive Services Limited. This would see it support the main LSL 47 fleet on fill-in duties such as driver training and route learning.
The ScotRail-liveried duff was in the workshop undergoing repairs and maintenance ahead of it commencing mainline work under the agreement.
Alongside 47712 is boiler-less GWR 4-6-0 Castle Class 5029 "Nunney Castle" whilst just visible through the plastic sheeting behind is Class 55, 55016 / D9016 "Gordon Highlander".
Snaps from the Crewe Diesel Depot "All Change" charity open day organised by Locomotive Services Limited and Virgin Trains West Coast. Mostly taken on my iPhone "for the record".
