Crew(e) Change
Freightliner Class 90, 90044 - on-hire to GB Railfreight - stands at Crewe station with the last ever working of the Mk3/Mk2s on the Caledonian Sleeper. After more than 35 years of unstinting service, the Up Highlander (1M16) to Euston was the last run for the venerable rolling stock.
With the new Mk5s requiring the specially modified Class 92s with Dellners and 1500v ETS to haul them under the wires, this was also the last time the Class 90s would haul the sleeper after many years of use in this role.
Two of GB Railfreight's Crewe Depot drivers exchange notes and perhaps a memory or two as they change over for the final leg of this historic run.
