"At Least I Still Have My Windows!"
Two demic electric locos at Crewe Basford Hall yard compete with each other in the "who looks worst" competition.
On the left of the pair is ex-Virgin Trains-liveried Class 86/2, 86251 (formerly "The Birmingham Post"). The 86/2 was stored in October 2002 and had been at Long Marston for several years before being acquired in March 2016 as spares donor by Freightliner for its 86/6 fleet.
Alongside is Freightliner's stored and very derelict Class 90, 90050 has seen far better days. Withdrawn in December 2004 after suffering a serious fire, it has been alleviated of many parts over the years and is now little more than a rusting shell.
(Photographs taken on organised tour of Freightliner's Crewe Basford Hall yard.)
