Unwelcome Hat-trick

An unwelcome hat-trick when for the third morning in a row one of the southbound Caledonian Sleeper services was severely delayed. After 1M16's stock fault on Wednesday night and 1M11's loco failure on Thursday night, it was back to the Highlander (1M16) to round off the week and complete the treble.

The service was late due to unfortunate circumstances, with a previous person hit by train incident at Balmossie delaying the Aberdeen portion.

Having left Edinburgh 148 Late, the service was 135 Late by the time Freightliner Class 90, 90049, flew through Hartford station in Cheshire with its rake of 'classic' Mk3/Mk2 stock.
