Braunton Heads to God's Own Country

Built in Brighton Works in 1946, Southern Region West Country Class 4-6-2 Pacific 21C146 "Braunton" (34046) is now one of the immaculately preserved and maintained steam engines in Jeremy Hosking's collection.

Arriving in Hartford to pick up passengers for Saphos Trains' "The Yorkshire Traveller" railtour, Braunton was working 1Z90 Crewe to York. On the rear (and just visible) Class 47, 47501 / D1944 "Craftsman" was along for the ride as the supporting diesel locomotive.
