Lone Ranger
Built at the English Electric Vulcan Foundry in 1965, AC Locomotive Group's Class 86/1, 86101 "Sir William A Stanier FRS" heads out of Platform 1 after working in the Empty Coaching Stock (5S95) for the Caledonian Sleeper Down Highlander service (1S25). It would then run round to stable in the Middle Sidings ahead of working the ECS again in the morning.
With fellow Class 86 "Mons Meg" (401) now off-hired and the last remaining mainline Class 87, 87 002, needing an Exam at Wembley, 86 101 is the only currently active member of the original ACLG heritage trio on the Sleeper ECS moves.
