Into The Night
A sight I thought I'd never see - GB Railfreight's recently reinstated Class 92, 92006, hauling the old Mk3/Mk2 Caledonian Sleeper stock as it makes it way through Hartford with a Polmadie to Wembley ECS move (5Z11).
Reinstated after 13 years in store to bolster the 92 fleet for Mk5 Sleeper workings, 006 left Brush at the start of July after the Mk5s had been rolled-out (on the Lowlander) and with its ETS configured for the 1500V supply needed for the new CAF stock.
It seemed destined to only work the new Sleeper stock, but with the ECS move not requiring ETS and 006 needing a run out after a spell on the sidelines for repair, the new kid on the block did manage to try out the old stock before it is consigned to the history books in a few weeks time.
