One Up, One Down

After stock issues resulted in the Glasgow portion of the Up Lowlander (1M11) being cancelled on the Friday night, there was a need to move the Mk5 unit south to reposition it and form the full Down Lowlander service on the Sunday night (1S26). This move meant a Class 92 from the Scotland/Polmadie end would now be at the London/Wembley end and conversely another 92 needed to run light in the opposite direction to rebalance the locos.

GB Railfreight Class 92, 92 014 - fresh off B Exam - heads north through Hartford station on 0Z92 to replace 010 heading in the opposite direction with the miscreant Mk5s.

92014 would then work the ECS shunts that night between Polmadie and Glasgow Central.
