The 1965-built locomotive looked and sounded in excellent condition as it powered The Statesman through Acton Bridge as 1Z27 on its return to Milton Keynes after a day trip to Appleby on the Settle & Carlisle line.
D1944 / 47 501 "Craftsman" was on the rear just out of sight.
