Next Stop: Wembley
Back in February at the end of its first full week of proper mainline testing, GB Railfreight's recently reinstated Class 92, 92 020 heads out of Platform 8 at Crewe station to stable in the Down Holding Siding No.1 in Crewe neck.
92020's next trip would be a first run in almost 18 years to another of its old stomping groups - Wembley Yard - as part of loco move. As well as facilitating one of the regular "Skoda Swaps", 020 also took 010 to Wembley so it could resume work on the Beds.
010 - which itself had been in Crewe ETD for repair - had been accompanying 020 on its first week of testing and had earlier led a run from Crewe ETD to Stafford as 0Z95, with 020 then returning (and performing well) as 0Z96. The engines went via the Basford Hall and Gresty Bridge triangle on the return to turn the locos so 020 was on the south end ready to lead the "Skoda swap" move the following Monday as its next test outing.
