The After Party

Having worked 1Z44 - the final leg of the GB Railfreight "Out of the Ordinary" charity railtour - most of the way from Crewe to Paddington, The Fifty Fund's Class 50s 50 007 "Hercules" (leading) and 50 049 "Defiance" (nearest the camera) were on the rear into Paddington after the reverse at Hanwell Loop.

50007 (aka 50006) and 50049 (aka 50011) then returned the Riviera Mk1 stock to Eastleigh where it is based, with the 73/1s that had completed the journey from Hanwell on the rear. However... it did not run as a Class 5 ECS service, but a Class 1 passenger as the GB volunteers and other staff and helpers stayed on board for a very well-deserved curry and beer (not to mention some additional Class 50 haulage!).

Not sure how the ladies and gents who'd organised and ran this four-day tour still had enough left in the tank for beers and curry at this stage, but their huge efforts resulted in over £145,000 being raised for the two nominated charities - McMillan Cancer Care and Headway.
