Trashed Skoda
Looking even more bashed up than usual, hired-in (to GBRf) Freightliner Class 90, 90 048, stands bruised and battered in Polmadie Carriage Maintenance Depot. The Skoda had struck a tree just north of Abington on 1S26 in the early hours of the previous day and had to be rescued by 47 749 (see ScottDarg's photo here). The damaged pantograph is visible and the secondman's windscreen was also shattered.
90048 was towed to Mossend the following morning (by the ex-Colas duff again) and eventually moved by Freightliner on an intermodal train back to Crewe Basford Hall to be repaired.
