Recurring Ravel
After some major investment and hard graft, the GBRf Class 92 fleet is now significantly more reliable than their early weeks on the Sleeper in Spring 2015 which were fraught with major failures and delays. The down side (if there is one to seeing 92s in full flight on the WCML!) is these days the same locos will work the services in rotation night after night.
With 92 023 (formerly Ravel) currently putting in a solid stint on the Highlander (92 033 working in the opposite direction) when a delay caused by a lineside fire in the Edinburgh area presented another opportunity for an early morning 1M16 shot, once again 023 was the subject. The delay (104L at this point through Acton Bridge) did enable a different location/angle to be found at least. The service got caught up in the southern WCML "traffic" and ultimately arrived at Euston 135 Late.
GBRf Class 92, 92 023, hauls the 1M16 Caledonian Sleeper Highlander service from Inverness to Euston.
