Emile takes Bill to the Big Smoke
GB Railfreight Class 92, 92 014 (formerly named "Emile Zola") hauls AC Locomotive Group's Class 86/1, 86 101 "Sir William A Stanier FRS" south through Acton Bridge as 0Z66 on the second leg of their long weekend journey from Polmadie to Wembley for both locomotives to undergo A Exams.
The Caledonian Sleeper-liveried engines - which were running 100 Early - moved from Polmadie to Carlisle the previous day (Saturday) then on to Crewe today (Sunday) before finally heading on to Wembley tomorrow via the Monday "Skoda Swap" path (0Z90).
92014 is now set up for Mk5 ETS (1500v versus 900v for classic stock) and has been hauling Mk5 test/training trains for the past four weeks. 86101 - on long-term hire to GB Railfreight from AC Locomotive Group / Electric Traction Limited - has been hauling ECS moves out of Polmadie depot since late November. The 86 (along with the two other ACLG hire-ins) is not compatible with the Mk5s and therefore their four year stint with the Caledonian Sleepers will be ending when the Mk5s are fully rolled-out later in 2019.
