Unusual Visitor

Whilst not at all unusual for railtours to pass through Hartford station at speed, it's fairly unusual for them to make a scheduled stop at the station.

"The William Shakespeare" tour, however, picked up travellers from the Cheshire town and dropped them off after their day out to Stratford-upon-Avon. The excursion was steam-hauled for the Crewe-Stafford-Crewe legs, with Locomotive Services' beautifully restored Class 47, D1924 "Crewe Diesel Depot" taking charge of the Preston-Crewe / Crewe-Preston legs.

In the evening twilight, D1924 - or 47810 to use her TOPS number - brings 1Z49 into the station to set-down guests.
