Not-so-duff Duff
A locomotive with not the greatest of reputations for reliability, but GB's Class 47, 47 749 "City of Truro" did a sterling job on Day 4 of the GBRf 2018 "Out of the Ordinary" charity railtour - and that after rescuing a Class 90 and full Load 16 Sleeper after a wires-down incident a couple of days previously.
Still sporting its previous owners' unbranded livery, former-Colas engine 47749 was ready to depart Glasgow Central with the 1Z42 section of the tour to Crewe, although the duff only took the train as far as Carlisle where it was replaced by a pair of Freightliner 86/6s.
