What's in a Name?

Close-up of the nameplate on GB Railfreight's Class 47, 47 749 "City of Truro" whilst it waits to depart Glasgow Central with the 1Z42 section of the GBRf 2018 "Out of the Ordinary" charity railtour. The locomotive still requires a repaint out of its former owners' livery, but GB have confirmed it will retain the "City of Truro" name the engine first carried.

Built in February 1965, over its 53+ years this locomotive has had many identities carrying the numbers D1660, 47076, 47625 and 47749 and the names City of Truro (originally from 1965 to 1988), Resplendent, Atlantic College and - in its Colas days - Demelza.
