Pocket Rocket
GBRf Class 73/9, 73 967, stands at the buffers at Fort William having brought in the 1Y11 Edinburgh - Fort William Caledonian Sleeper Highlander service.
Due to the increased tourist trade in the summer months, the train was a Load 6 (4 sleeper cars, a lounge and a brake/seats). Despite the greater load, 73967 coped admirably on the inclines and bends of the West Highland Line, keeping to time throughout. This was my first experience behind the re-engineed Class 73/9s and they are certainly impressive little locos.
