CAF Coupling Mods Close-up (#2) - 92038

Close-up of the new coupling modifications to Caledonian Sleeper-liveried GBRf Class 92, 92038, the first-in-class to receive the "CAF modifications" to allow it to work with the new Mk5 CAF-built Caledonian Sleeper stock.

The Dellner coupling is in the dropped-down position allowing the 'classic' draw-hook to be accessible. Also of note are the retractable buffers, which come forward when the locomotive is using the 'classic' couplings, however are pushed back and secured in place when using the Dellner.

92 038 is pictured at Crewe station, having been released from Brush after over seven months at the works for overhaul and the CAF modifications. It was moved to Crewe by 66 755 on 0Z51 Loughborough Brush to Crewe Holding Sidings.
