“Just give him a few Zurlipan and he should be okay...” Dr. Emerson handed the clipboard to a nurse and continued down the hallway of the Coast City General Hospital, ready to get scrubbed for the next surgery he had to do.
Neal didn’t notice the man in green seated in the corner until he tapped the end of his cane against floor.
“Ahem...hello, Dr. Emerson. Pleased to see you’ve been managing to keep the other doctor at bay.”
Neal spun around, the top of his scrubs on, “What? Who the hell are you?”
Edward smiled and stood, putting his weight on the cane as he lifted himself up. He put his cane behind his back and rocked back and forth on his heels.
“My name is Edward Nygma, but in all honesty, you, Dr. Emerson, don’t need to know that. I need to speak to somebody else. Could you get him for me?”
Neal’s eyes darted to the door and back to Nygma, “Who uh...who do you need to speak to?”
“Doctor Polaris, if you please.”
Neal felt his heart drop as he took in a deep breath, “I-I can’t...”
“Neal. Neal I need to speak to Doctor Polaris. I honestly don’t care if you’ve been through years of therapy or whatever else, but I need to speak to Doctor POLARIS.”
Edward shoved Neal to the back of the wall and held a magnet up to his face, “Doctor Polaris, see? Magnets. MAGNETS, NEAL! I NEED TO SPEAK TO DOCTOR POLARIS!”
Neal’s breath sped up and he felt a terrible migraine. He began to crumple down against the wall and as his eyes rolled backwards.
Edward watched Neal fade and smiled, now leaning on his cane as the man in front of him stood up.
Doctor Polaris cleared his throat, “Edward Nygma. Thank you, I haven’t been able to see these horrible fluorescent lights in a long time.”
Nygma nodded and handed the magnet to Polaris, “Good to see you, Doctor. I have something to discuss with you, sir! An ally and I have something to discuss with you, that is.”
