Former Rock Island caboose #12557 was captured wearing very clean paint. Note the modifications made by the CNW, including new plating over most windows on the car sides and cab. The shop date was December 16, 1987. While there is no location noted on the slide, my hunch is that it was taken at Proviso - can someone confirm using the unique switch target?
