Lothar, 86 Jahre alt, und seine Ehefrau Ute

 

Es handelt sich bei dem Mann um Lothar Weiland. Dieser hat 1976 mit Ullu Becker und Johannes Hoyos an dem Ritt quer durch die USA – The Great American Horse Race teilgenommen. Sie durchquerten auf ihren Islandpferden als erste Deutsche die USA von New York bis Kalifornien. Nach 99 Tagen und 6.000 km kamen sie in Sacramento an. Sie kamen als einzigste Gruppe komplett an. Das Rennen selber hat übrigens ein Muli gewonnen. Man kann mit Fug und Recht sagen, dass Lothar einer der Pioniere der Islandpferdehaltung in Deutschland ist.

This is Lothar Weiland. In 1976 he participated in the ride across the USA with Ullu Becker and Johannes Hoyos - The Great American Horse Race. On their Icelandic horses they crossed the USA from New York to California as the first Germans. After 99 days and 6,000 km they arrived in Sacramento. They arrived as the only group completely. The race itself has won a mule. It is fair to say that Lothar is one of the pioneers of Icelandic horse management in Germany.

C'est Lothar Weiland. En 1976, il participa à la traversée des États-Unis avec Ullu Becker et Johannes Hoyos - The Great American Horse Race. Sur leurs chevaux islandais, ils ont traversé les États-Unis de New York à la Californie en tant que premiers Allemands. Après 99 jours et 6 000 km, ils sont arrivés à Sacramento. Ils sont arrivés comme le seul groupe complètement. La course elle-même a gagné un mulet. Il est juste de dire que Lothar est l’un des pionniers de la gestion de chevaux islandais en Allemagne.
